Yes, We ARE Suckers!
Meet Jonesy. Yeah, like we need another cat. How adorable is he, though? I won't go into detail; let's just say he wasn't wanted and would probably be dead right now if we hadn't stepped in. He is so good, and what a riot! He has been keeping us on our toes! TTFN!

Our New Project!
I'm giving a peek of my very exciting news! This is my parents barn and in the spring my sister-in-law and I are starting a farm market/antique store/everything in it. This is the nicest picture; you do NOT want to see the inside yet:)! No way! I did take before pictures, but it is such a mess up there! But I can definitely see the finished product in my head! It isn't hard. I always try to see the cup as half full. We have always wanted to start something, but expenses to rent, heat, etc. always loomed. Not to mention the way the economy is right now. We thought if we did it this way it would give us some experience in running our own business, and we'll have fun decorating and getting to know people. We might even make a little bit of money! The only thing I'm having a hard time with is coming up with a name. I will probably start a blog in that new name as soon as I can figure one out; I will be updating our progress all winter! TTFN!

Sshhh...Don't Tell!!
I just made treats for my sweet friend, Tangee. She is so nice and I wanted to show her my appreciation! She has a lovely blog at asparklymessylife.blogspot.com Check out her lovely necklaces and jewelry! I have found I make fun stuff when I'm not under stress to get the items done. My imagination can go crazy!
This was my most favorite. I love making fun things out of old ugly things!
Here is some of my Halloween fun! That is one thing I LOVE to do-decorate!
A little creepy laboratory.

An Anniversary Celebration!
It was a success! We had my parent's 40th celebration Saturday, and we had a full house the whole time! What a blessing to have so many friends and be married for so long! This "40" doesn't look very big in the pic., but each number was as high as a full piece of poster board! Hubby DREW them(yes, DREW them himself!), and I cut them out and glittered them. You will see this same pic. farther down. I'm sorry, but I still have problems with this technology!
My sister-in-law and I made the penant. It says "Don & Linda". It's hard to see it, but it turned out nice.
This is our famous(or not so much) pumpkin cake. We have had it for every birthday for as long as I can remember. It is sort of a tradition in the family, so I thought we should have one for this celebration, too! I wish I could also say I made this cake below, but I didn't. It turned out so nice!I did make this "cake". I had so much fun making it! My mom loved it!
Okay, now we're down where this pic. should be. This was the gift table. Just ignore the speakers and wire underneath the table:) My son put songs from the 60's on his ipod and we ran it through those speakers.
I love this Congratulations garland. I found it on clearance at Michael's, and I wish I would have picked them all up! We had a pic. of my parents blown up and we framed it and everyone signed the matte for a keepsake.
This is a close up of the tassles I made for the end of the garland.
...And they lived Happily Ever After!!

More Swap Stuff and Babycakes
I'm going to make this brief. Still nutsy busy over the open house, but wanted to share a little bit more of what I got from Heidi. They are the same items, just opened and displayed. I set the tags and bows she made in amongst my fall stuff. Here is Mr. Pumpkin Face with the sparkly pumkin. He looks funky with the candle in there, but it looks really neat when it is lit.
I realized it had been a while since I shared pics. of my adorable niece. This was a couple weeks ago for a Harvest Party my sister-in-law had. She is dressed in the very same outfit I wore on my first Halloween. I gave it to my sister-in-law when she was pregnant, and I was so thrilled to see Clover wearing it! I know, she is the most adorable baby you have ever seen:)
I love this picture! My goofball Hubby got really close and snapped it! Even when she is being silly she is darling! Well, off to bed! Big weekend ahead! TTFN!

Swap Items
Whew! Am I pooped! Sorry this is late in the day; we're having a 40th anniversary open house for my parents Saturday and I have been crazy busy! Anyway, this is the great stuff I got from Heidi for the Very Vintage Halloween Swap! I was sooo pumped to get the great magazine with fun Halloween ideas in it. I got a neat candle, a big tin pumpkin luminarie, and a very pretty glittery pumpkin. Not to mention the gorgeous bows with the great tags on them. I unwrapped everything very carefully so I could keep the bows and attach them to my things around the house for decoration. This one was so fun with the pumpkin lollipops wrapped into it.
I LOVE the one with my initial on it. This is everything wrapped up still. Tomorrow I'm going to post pics. of it unwrapped and in my house. I also loved the pretty envelope with my name on it so cool. I'm going to frame it! I want to thank Heidi again for all the great stuff! TTFN!

Treasures!
I am so ashamed. It has been quite a while since I posted anything. I have hit 3 auctions, a few yard sales, and a flea market since my last post, and have had too many things to put away and take care of! Here are just a few of the items I have gotten. Got this wonderful set of glasses for $3.00!!! Love this spooky looking postcard. Fun, huh?
Here are some more fun things for art.
I got this key hole and broken watch for art. The charms on the watch are great, aren't they? The material it is laying on is part of a HUGE black and tan tassle I found at the flea market.
The buy of the whole month(maybe even year)! This guy said he would give me any of the old papers for a dollar each or $17.00 for the whole box!!! There are WAY more than 17 papers in this! I made out like a bandit! There are antique calling cards, advertising cards, books, postcards, cut-outs, everything! All 1922 or earlier! Woo-Hoo!
Now for a taste of Halloween. I got this platter and these stickers(plus several more) from Dollar Tree! Love it!
I don't have much up for Halloween yet. I know, I'm behind. I do have this little vignette, though. The glittery pumpkin is from a Halloween swap I was in. My partner Heidi sent it to me. I will be posting pics. of all the stuff I got on Oct. 8th. BTW, Happy October! TTFN!
