Pickle's New Do

Look what Hubby did this afternoon! He buzzed Pickle's hair this way for a joke, but he(Pickle) liked it so much that I told him he could at least keep it for the weekend. I think it is fun, but it's hard to go to church looking nice with a mohawk! Of course my mom hates it, but I don't see anything wrong with having fun with hairstyles and such when your young and don't have to worry how you look on the job! There was a preying mantis on the spokes of by bike this afternoon; so sorry for the terrible pic., I don't have a great camera, so it's a bit blurry. Anyway, I think they are so interesting and beautiful! The boys freak out everytime I pick one up, but I love just studying them!
This cluster of fungi was in my neighbor's driveway, and I just had to get a picture! I've never seen anything like it before, and I thought it was pretty neat. TTFN!

Blessed

I realized I haven't shared much of my art and such, so I am posting this collage I did in the spring. I certainly am "Blest":) Sometimes we think things are so bad, but in the grand scheme of things, it really isn't that bad at all. To have one's family and the love that they give is really one of life's true blessings! TTFN!

Trash Pickers of the World Unite!!

Well, it really wasn't IN the trash, but this beautiful antique couch was sitting next to a dumpster behind a furniture store when we we on our way to the farmer's market Friday! I made hubby slam on the brakes, we asked the man standing there what the deal was, and he said it was free for the taking! Of course I was very leary; we looked it over from top to bottom-nothing wrong with it! I think it even has it's original upholstery! It fits my decor perfect! What luck! Now on to my weekend finds. We only stopped at 3 or 4 yard sales, but they were good ones. I love these plaques. They are very old, and I love the dark colors and aging they have.
Found a box of old dominoes and a bag of great beads,
and these beautiful vintage bows. Oh, those colors! Talk about inspiration!
A lady GAVE me this adorable notepad holder. It still has the old notepad in it!

This lamp is so cute. It is missing the top of the dogs head and the shade, but I will figure something out to do with it someday.
Okay, this next one is a bit bazarre, but I couldn't resist! I know you have to be some part of mental if you buy a box of crackers for the pics. on the box. These were at Big Lots for .80 cents and I just love the box! The boys will eat the crackers. Look at her face; it's like she's saying "oooh, thses crackers are so yummy!"

This is one of my favorites! I collect old and vintage Santas and he is so adorable! Won't be long and it will be time to set him out! I know, I needn't be rushing time anymore than it already is!
I'm so excited to have my swap partners name for the Fall Swap! I'm looking forward to making her stuff! I love this time of year! TTFN!

Look What I Found...

I am so excited! Aren't they beautiful? I am the first to admit I don't like real fur just for the fact of the way it is gotten; these came in an auction box and were started to be put together as a coat. Oh, what fun I can have with them! This was my mother's desk when she was little. I wanted to do something different with it as most of my furniture is shabby and light colored-this is before,
this is after! I love the way it turned out! The color is Coalmine from Wal-Mart. I painted it, sanded the edges, and then glazed it. The hardware is original.
I have an old Queen Anne chair that I am going to redo to match. Pictures to follow once it's done! TTFN!

Aaar, Matey!

Aaar! All hands on deck! Especially all ye seadogs!
Grab ye pirate rum(pina colada juice:), and meet your mateys for a 10 year celebration of Pickle's birthday!
Don't let Capt. Jack Sparrow know we swiped his "rum" stash,
and don't let the skeletons eat all the cake!
Most important, don't forget ye treasure! Now walk the plank!! TTFN!

A July Wedding

Well, it has been a while. To put it lightly, life has been a little hectic. I hate not being on top of my blog; that said, I apologize, so let's move on. Since I have been on here there has been two Vacation Bible Schools, a bout with the flu, a screen porch almost finished, and my mother-in-law got married. The pics. are not in order, but we had a good time. We all took our turn with the karaoke! Dylan and his cousin sang "YMCA"(they did better than anyone).
My sister-in-law and I got funky with "Girls Just Want to have Fun".

My mother-in-law with her children.
A pic. with all the Grandchildren(yes, I know the woman looks younger than me, life just isn't fair!)
We were in front of them in the Mountaineer to escort them around town to honk horns. I thought it was so cool that they rode a motorcycle!
Princess Aubrey
Shaking our booties to the Macarana

These next pictures make me want to cry, so give me a moment. Ok. I just can't believe my boys are getting so big and handsome! It makes my heart hurt a little. This is my gorgeous niece and E.
Another niece and Pickle
Two very handsome brothers. It isn't everyday I get to see them all dressed up let alone get a picture!
Hubby's brother's beautiful family.
Another pretty good looking family(if I do say so myself:). As with all weddings, we were pretty happy when it was over, it got really crazy near the end, but it went off without a hitch and my hubby has a new step father and the boys have a new Grandpa! I will be posting pics. of our new screen porch soon! TTFN!
